Advantech introduced the ASMB-310IR, a dual-processor server board with a CEB form factor that fits into both standard and smaller industrial-grade chassis. Featuring dual Intel Xeon 5500/5560 series processors, six ECC registered DIMMs with a 48-Gbyte capacity, and rich expansion slots with high bandwidth support, the board comes with five to seven years of component supply longevity support and strict revision control.
The ASMB-310IR comes with high-speed connectivity and expansion options including four PCIe x8 (or two PCIe x16 via autoswitch) slots, one PCIe x4 slot, up to nine USB ports, two COM ports, and support for up to eight SAS/SATA HDDs. One of the three built-in Gbit Ethernet LANs is dedicated to a remote management function that achieves improved redundant LAN and teaming.
ASMB-310IR can support IPMI 2.0. It provides an OS-independent and cross-platform interface for monitoring–among other things–server system temperature, voltage, and fan status, and it permits out-of-band management even when the main processors are not powered-on. If the system fails or encounters a blue screen or any error messages, system power down or reset can be automatically enabled. This feature helps IT engineers troubleshoot and maintain the systems much more easily, especially in unattended environments.
