A producer of nanominiature connectors has announced the addition of a threaded metal shell circular to its nano family of products. Appropriate for body-worn medical monitoring equipment, the threaded metal shell provides a positive lock while compressing an O-ring to provide a waterproof interfacial seal. With the ability to withstand high shock and vibrations while maintaining electrical integrity, the connectors are suitable for demanding applications in which size is critical. The high-density multiposition connectors are available in four shell sizes: 6, 11, 16, and 28 positions. The positions are arranged on a 0.025-in. (0.64 mm) pitch and are capable of 1 A per contact.
