OEMs can use a thermoelectric device for implantable devices such as pacemakers and defibrillators. The OptoCooler HV14 can convert body heat into usable electricity for the charging of batteries when there’s a sufficient difference in temperature. The product enables a maximum assembly temperature of 320°C, which makes it compatible with eutectic gold-tin. At 85°C, the device operates at a maximum of 2.7 V and can pump 1.7 W of heat in a footprint of 3 mm. The module can create a temperature differential of up to 50°C between its hot and cold side.
