A fast-write memory is designed for use in low-cost black-box recorders, to help identify the causes of equipment failures or accidents. M35B32 EEPROM has an ultrafast recording feature. It is able to record up to 2 Kb in less than one millisecond. Data to be saved quickly in the event of a problem; for example, in a power failure, the product can save the information needed to recover the system before the supply voltage falls to an unusable level. According to the manufacturer, the product is about 40 times faster than the standard 32-Kb EEPROM. It can also match the write speed of Flash while using one-tenth as much energy. The product has a 32-Kb capacity, divided into separate sectors for event recording and regular system EEPROM.
