The company has installed and qualified conveyorized wet processing equipment, including a chemical clean line, cupric chloride etcher, and resist stripper. Each of these lines features a thin-material transport system optimized to handle the thin dielectrics commonly used in flex and rigid-flex PCB designs. Not only has the added capacity and equipment positioned the manufacturer’s cost structure for higher-volume rigid-flex manufacturing, but repeatability, manufacturing yield, and process capability on trace technology below 75 μm/75 μm have been improved as well.
