SMT board-to-board connectors can be used in patient monitoring equipment and defibrillators. The SlimStack Board-to-Board series of connectors have a 0.40-mm pitch, 0.70-mm mated height, and 2.60-mm width. In addition to their ultralow profile and narrow width, other features include a two-point contact design and 0.18-mm wipe length for secure contact and reliable electrical performance. The connectors also feature a nickel-barrier plating to prevent solder flux intrusion and a tactile click sound and feel to confirm secure mating. Gold-plated terminals are included for durability over repeated cycling. The connectors are available in 20–50 circuits and have four solder tabs on each mating side for secure PCB retention.
