Based on a patented dc-motor-driven endless-piston design, the eco-PEN series of Preeflow volumetric dosing dispensers from Intertronics exhibit accuracy of better than 1%. One model in particular, which can dispense a range of low- to high-viscosity materials, is suited for the application of dots and beads with very high volumetric precision for incorporation into joint-sealing technologies adaptable to track speeds. Dispensing at 16 to 20 bar, it uses luer-locking needles or nozzles and provides dosing quantities down to 0.001 ml at flow rates of 0.12 to 1.48 ml/min. Repeatable accuracy is achieved using integral planetary gearing and a special rotor and stator-pressure-tight continuous-displacement system, which ensures gentle handling of the medium without damage to fragile inclusions. Suck-back capability achieved using a rotor-reversal function provides clean flow cutoff and prevents dripping. Benchtop and panel-mount microprocessor-based controllers are available for these dispensers.
